Superb guitar alert!

Every now and then, the opportunity arises for an evermore coveted vintage Fender electric to be offered at a price lower than the latest reissue counterpart. Today is that day for this neck-stamped '73, serialized '74 Tele Deluxe.

This instrument has seen some miles and has some stories to tell. There have been some modifications that would place this guitar outside of the collector market and categorize it as 'Player Grade'. Hang on though! The bones of this instrument are a true testament to the lore of old Fender, and some of the mods are not so undesirable to the avid player.

The piece de resistance on this Telecaster is the neck. Near perfectly straight on bass and treble sides, the profile is notably heftier than the average Tele, and bears virtually no resemblance to the 70s American Vintage II reissues in circulation (think '50s without the 'V'). It's very comfortable and full with a slight taper towards the headstock. The frets have been pro swapped for stainless steel and feel brand new. The tuners are older replacements.

Once painted black as per the neck cavity, the old body refin has yellowed naturally to match the original clear coat of the neck. Both the bridge and pickguard appear to be original, though we suspect nearly all of the electronics and wiring are replacements. Pots are correct vintage-type CTS 250k with a proper spec Switchcraft toggle. The pickups are recent Fender Wide Range reissues that sound excellent.

Play's like butter and weighs in at 7.62 lbs.
