Fender Custom Shop 1962 Jazzmaster, Time Capsule Package, Fiesta Red

The second arrival in our series of 12 sixties Custom Shop stallions comes in form of this 1962 Time Capsule Jazzmaster in ultra 60's custom colour, Fiesta Red. The goal here was to achieve a very true-to-spec Jazzmaster, as if it had been custom ordered brand new at a shop in 1962, tossed in case and placed under a bed undisturbed for 63 years. 

The matching headstock balances the look against the dark AAA 9mm rosewood slab and the lightly tinted quarter-sawn maple, and the 62 profile has very little taper, remaining consistent yet full in the palm throughout the neck. A mint green pickguard with cream plastics seals the deal on the vintage vibes. 

The sorted-for-light-weight body features an NOS nitro flash coat lacquer that is unbuffed, so the finish is slightly disturbed and shirks the candy-coated look of modern counterparts. The newness is preserved in part by the closet-classic hardware, in it's sparkly un-aged chrome. The whole package comes in at a weight of 8.1lbs

Special appointments include the treble bleed 'tone-saver' cap on the master volume, and a pair of hand-wound Josephina pickups.

As Jazzmasters go, this will be hard to top. It's everything you want from a top tier offset instrument without the vintage quirks or price tag of a custom colour Fender guitar.
