The PRS SE Swamp Ash Special is a unique model in the expanding SE Series. With a black ash body and 22-fret maple neck, this instrument presents a new face and a versatile voice.
The 85/15 “S” pickups are flanked by a PRS-designed AS-01 single-coil “S” pickup in the middle position. The latter is made of alnico and steel, which adds mass to the pickups and helps create a powerful tone. Combined with a push-pull tone control and 3-way pickup selector switch, this electronics package offers a wide range of tones, and the addition of PRS’s patented tremolo system adds an extra layer of versatility.
The overall tone of the PRS SE Swamp Ash Special offers tight lows, bright but sweet highs, and a welcome twangy tone that can reach into hot country, blues, and even jazz territory.
